Childhood immunisations
  • As parents we all want the best for our children. We invest in stair gates, safety gadgets and car seats but it is also important to keep them safe by ensuring that they are up to date with their immunisations. Click here for more information.
  • Common myths about childhood vaccinations.
  • The MMR vaccine – national guidance is available here. Please note for children registered with us:
    • 1st MMR to be given at 12 months of age. NOT SOONER.
    • 2nd MMR to be given at 3 years 4 months of age. NOT SOONER.
    • We will write to patients inviting them for their 2nd MMR.
    • If your child has missed the MMR vaccination or you have declined it in the past, but you now wish your child to have it, please contact us to organise this.
    • You can have the MMR up to the age of 18 years.
    • When teenagers attend the surgery for their leaving school booster, we check to see if they have had 2 MMR vaccinations. If they have not had 2 doses, we can offer this to them at the same time
Covid19
  • Patients who have had Covid19 may still be experiencing various side-effects and symptoms of the condition after many months since contracting the virus – so called “long covid”.
  • As you find yourself recovering from COVID-19 you may still be coming to terms with the impact the virus has had on both your body and mind. These changes should get better over time, some may take longer than others, but there are things you can do to help.
  • Your COVID Recovery helps you to understand what has happened and what you might expect as part of your recovery.
  • This post-covid19 patient information pack contains some useful information and support for managing these symptoms.
Ear, Nose & Throat
  • Ear wax – can be troublesome but most cases can be managed without syringing or suctioning. During Covid19, there is a potential increased risk of aerosol spread of coronavirus during syringing, due to the risk of causing a cough whilst syringing. We would therefore advice patients to try the measures suggested in these links first before contacting us. Link 1 Link 2
  • Sore Throat – read the guidance from NICE about why most sore throats don’t need antibiotics
