Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions can be obtained from the surgery without seeing a doctor/nurse. If the doctor is happy for you to continue the treatment, you can do this in a number of ways:

Please check on your latest prescription tear-off slip that your medication does not need reviewing, ie the two numbers are the same, eg 3/3 – if this is the case, your medication will need reviewing.

In Person or by Post:

Please bring or post your repeat prescription to the surgery. Tick the repeat medication you require and delete any medication you do not require.

The Electonic Prescription Service (EPS):

EPS – A new way to get your medicines and appliances leaflet

The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service.

Patient Notice: Not all items can be ordered via EPS. Currently, controlled drugs and food products cannot be ordered this way. Any queries please contact reception

How is it different?

It allows the GP surgery to send  your prescription to the place you choose to get your medicines or appliances from.

If you currently collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP, by using this new Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) you will no longer have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription.

Instead, your GP will send it electronically to the place (e.g. Pharmacy) you choose, saving you time.

How can you use the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)?

You need to choose a place for your GP practice to electronically send your prescriptions to. This is called nomination.

Ask any pharmacy or dispensing appliance contractor that offers EPS, to add your nomination for you.

You don’t need a computer to do this!

Please allow 2 working days (not including Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holidays) before collecting items from your nominated Pharmacy.
