The practice currently provides the following services:

NHS Health Checks – Everyone is at risk of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease. The good news is that these conditions can often be prevented – even if you have a history of them in your family. Family Planning – Please make an appointment to discuss with the doctor, nurse practitioner or nurse. We can offer all methods including emergency contraception, implanon and coil fitting.

Child Health Surveillance – All new babies are offered a health check at six to eight weeks.

Diabetic Clinic – you can bring your ‘sharps bins’ to the practice, for disposal, on Tuesdays before 12 o’clock. WE CAN NOT ACCEPT THEM AT ANY OTHER TIMES.

Travel Clinic – Our nurses will give advice on keeping healthy when travelling and can give any necessary immunisations. From 1st Sept 2023, we can only provide this service for planned journeys 8 weeks in advance.

Contraception

All patients who are sexually active and who wish to avoid pregnancy should be using contraception. Women continue to need protection until at least a year after the menopause. All methods are available free of charge including free condoms. The doctors and practice nurses are always happy to discuss contraception and sexual health. Young people can be assured of absolute confidentiality and we are especially keen to give advice to this group of patients.

Emergency Contraception (Morning After Pill) Emergency contraception is always available from us if you have had sex without contraception or suspect failure of your existing methods. Tablets can be started up to 72 hours after sex or, in suitable persons, a coil can be fitted up to five days later.

Private Medical Assessments eg. HGV forms, Insurance claims etc:

Patients are required to drop in the form as soon as possible and then allow up to 3wks for the doctor to complete. Please make sure we have an up-to-date contact number as we may need to contact you to book an appointment with the doctor. There may be a charge for this service.
